The folks behind The Pinewood Tippling Room in Decatur are working on The Mercury, a "cocktail-focused, classic American eatery" that is scheduled to open later this year on the second floor of Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall. In the meantime, they've launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project, hoping to raise $100,000 in the next 35 days.
In the above video, Brooks Cloud, Julian Goglia, and Mike Blydenstein share details on what diners can expect from The Mercury. Like at The Pinewood, Blydenstein will serve as executive chef, and Goglia is in charge of the beverage program. The 4,400-square-foot restaurant, with seating for 200, takes inspiration from the 1960s and will offer mid-century American cuisine and classic cocktails.
