DECATUR — Savannah smoked meat institution B's Cracklin' BBQ suffered a devastating fire last month and is trying to rebuild from the ground up. This Sunday, Kimball House is hosting a benefit event with barbecue, sides, and Creature Comforts beer. B's chef/owner Bryan Furman will prepare the 'cue, including whole-hog pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. Local chefs Jeff Wall (Kimball House) and Ryan Smith (the forthcoming Staplehouse) will cook up sides such as "Diana Ross Says These Are The Best" collard greens. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and all proceeds will go to the B's rebuild. [EaterWire]

GLENWOOD PARK — The next event in Gunshow's Hired Guns series will take place on August 11 and 12, when JJ Johnson of New York visits the kitchen. Johnson serves as chef de cuisine at two critically acclaimed restaurants, The Cecil and Minton's, in New York's Harlem neighborhood, and he was named to Eater's Young Guns class of 2014. Johnson will take his Caribbean-inspired cuisine to Gunshow's kitchen. [EaterWire]

SANDY SPRINGS — Double Zero Napoletana will host a Jean-François Christini wine dinner Tuesday night. The four-course meal from chef Edwin Molina will include pairings and is $89 per person. Seatings begin at 7 p.m. For reservations, call Double Zero at (404) 991-3666. [EaterWire]
