Charlotte-based restaurant 5Church will open an Atlanta location next year, replacing Shout in Midtown's Colony Square. Some new details from restaurateurs Patrick Whalen, Ayman Kamel, Alejandro Torio, and Jamie Lynch, the folks behind the eatery, shed a little more light on what to expect.
- Lynch will serve as executive chef, offering dishes such as a New York strip that is cooked for its entirety on one side and a lamb burger with red onion marmalade and Gorgonzola fondue. The restaurant will also use locally sourced ingredients to come up with menu items unique to the Atlanta location.
- At the bar, 5Church will offer the ubiquitous craft cocktails and beers, along with a 200-bottle wine list.
- Design is "neo-Victorian" with white concrete bars, black leather banquettes, chandeliers and large-scale artwork from local artists. Oh, and for anyone needing a philosophical fix while dining, the full text of Sun Tzu's The Art of War is hand-painted on the ceiling.
- The 11,000-square-foot space will seat 185 guests downstairs and offer additional rooftop dining.
Located at 1197 Peachtree Street NE, the Atlanta outpost will be the third 5Church restaurant, following the original that opened in Charlotte in 2012 and a second that is set to begin service soon in Charleston.
