Weeknight Deals at The Cockentrice; Sweet Auburn Karaoke Pop-Up

INMAN PARK — Krog Street Market's The Cockentrice is now offering three weekly specials: Tuesday night tasting menu, Wednesday half-price wine specials, and a Thursday charcuterie happy hour. Every Tuesday, diners can partake in a five-course menu created by chef-owner Kevin Ouzts for $25 with the option of wine pairings for an additional $20. On Wednesdays, any of the restaurant's boutique wines offered on the "by the glass" list are available at half-price of the bottle with a matching food purchase. Each Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., diners can now dive into The Cockentrice's charcuterie selection for half-price. [EaterWire]

PONCEY-HIGHLAND — Sweet Auburn Barbecue is hosting a karaoke pop-up tonight from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Regular dinner service will end at 11 p.m., but a limited menu and specialty cocktails will be available throughout the evening. The event is 18 and up. [EaterWire]

AVONDALE ESTATES — This Saturday, Pine Street Market will host an interactive demonstration on the breakdown of a whole hog from Gum Creek Farms. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pine Street's Rusty and Asa, along with Savannah Haseler from Twain's Brewpub & Billiards, will explain the various cuts of meat and the nuances of butchery. The class will also include lunch and beer from Beer Growler, and guests will take home their own pork chop and bacon. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online. [EaterWire]
