Marcel, the classic European steakhouse from local empire builder Ford Fry, opens today at 11 a.m. Executive chef Brian Horn, formerly of Fry's JCT. Kitchen & Bar, is on board to oversee the kitchen, which will turn out old-school haute cuisine such as seafood platters, sole meunière, crab Oscar, and an assortment of steaks. The cocktail program, developed by Lara Creasy, offers beverages that take inspiration from the 1940s through the '60s, and an extensive wine list is available, as well.
The restaurant, located in the former Abattoir space in Westside Provisions District, serves lunch six days a week, dinner nightly, and a late-night menu on the weekends. Lunch hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m., and the late-night menu runs Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. See an example of the full menu below.
