Details on the Krog Street Market venture from Holeman & Finch alums Greg Best and Regan Smith have been hard to come by, but the picture is getting clearer. Paul Calvert of Paper Plane and Victory Sandwich Bar fame is now involved as a partner, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, along with chef David Bies and designer Bart Sasso.

Like Best and Smith, Bies and Sasso have ties to the Linton Hopkins restaurant empire. The former previously served as chef de cuisine at Restaurant Eugene, and the latter as creative director for Hopkins' Resurgens Hospitality Group. Calvert, who stepped away from Paper Plane and Victory Brands a few months ago, is the only Hopkins outsider among the partners. Best and Smith launched the beverage program at Holeman & Finch Public House in 2008.

The name and concept haven't been announced, but tipsters in tune with the local scene tell Eater Atlanta there will be a small kitchen and walk-around bar, along with an upstairs mezzanine similar to Craft Izakaya's. There's also the possibility of a lower-level terrace with a soft ceiling, offering somewhat of an al fresco experience inside the market.

A new website for the project is live, featuring what appears to be a shimmying Grim Reaper who declares, "You will pay..." The bar/restaurant is on track to open this fall.
