David Connolly is on board as executive chef at Tap: A Gastropub in Midtown, Concentrics Restaurants announced Tuesday. Connolly replaces former executive chef Nick McCormick, who left in May to take over the kitchen at The Cafe at Linton's, chef and restaurateur Linton Hopkins' Atlanta Botanical Garden eatery. "Tap already has a great regular base and its Midtown location offers the best patio in town," Connolly said in a prepared statement. "We are having a lot of fun"

Connolly came up in Chicago, working in high-profile kitchens at MK, Spiaggia, and theWit Hotel. Before coming to Atlanta, he spent time in Portland, Maine, as executive chef at The Old Port Sea Grill and Falmouth Sea Grill. Connolly's wife is Francesca Connolly, who previously served as pastry chef at The Brasserie and Neighborhood Cafe at Parish, another Concentrics restaurant.
