Todd Richards Will Open a Hot Chicken Stall at Krog Street Market

And, Illegal Food is adding lunch hours.

Krog Street Market/Facebook

— Chef Todd Richards, who recently left The Shed at Glenwood and The Pig & The Pearl for White Oak Kitchen, will open a chicken stall inside Krog Street Market, reports Creative Loafing. The stall, called Richards' Southern Fried and on track to open early next year, will offer "regular" fried chicken and two hot varieties. A tipster tells Eater Atlanta the project is meant to be a replacement for Asha Gomez's Spice Road Chicken, which is off the table.

— Illegal Food in Virginia-Highland is adding lunch hours and changing up the menu a bit. Lunch is served Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the restaurant reopens for dinner at 6 p.m. Among the new dishes are a fried chicken sandwich, lamb merguez burger, and Kentucky chili cheeseburger. The brunch menu includes a few new items, as well.

— New Orleans native Michelle Matlock is on board as executive chef at 10th & Piedmont and G's Midtown. Replacing Javier Viera, who left to launch Cotton Calf Kitchen in Braselton, Matlock's previous experience includes time at Royal Cafe, Acme Oyster House, and Cobalt in the Big Easy.
