The temporary construction walls are down, and Jia's opening in Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall finally draws near. Depending on quickly staff training is complete, the Sichuan restaurant from Tasty China's Dahe Yang and executive chef Jiguo Jiang should open Monday or Wednesday, an employee tells Eater Atlanta. Jia was originally projected to be the first dining option in business at the market. While a few food stalls have opened first, it will be the first full-service eatery to launch.
Elsewhere in the market, ice cream truck-turned-food stall Honeysuckle Gelato is now open. Honeysuckle serves ice cream by the scoop, ice cream sandwiches, and milkshakes. Five percent of all sales are donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
