Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium has made a swift recovery and is ready to start pouring once again. The Edgewood Avenue bar shut down last week due to a fire, but it will make its triumphant return this Wednesday, one week after the blaze. Church will resume normal hours — 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. — and owner Grant Henry will host a dedication to thank his supporters.
Even though the fire was relatively minor and didn't cause a large amount of damage, the quick comeback is impressive. Nearby Edgewood Pizza needed nearly a year and a half to reopen, and Little Five Points Corner Tavern was shuttered for nearly two years.
