O-Ku Sushi, the forthcoming Westside restaurant that's based out of Charleston, has an executive chef on board. Jackie Chang will run the kitchen when it begins service next month, the restaurant announced Tuesday. Chang moves into the position after working under chef Fuyuhiko Ito at Umi Sushi in Buckhead.

O-Ku, which is operated by Charleston's Indigo Road Restaurant Group (Oak Steakhouse, Colletta), will move into the new Westside Ironworks development. The 4,000-square-foot space will include a sushi bar and rooftop seating with a view of the Midtown skyline. Interior design will be modern with exposed brick and steel beams, oversized chandeliers, and wooden wall treatments.

In addition to sushi, the menu will feature ishiyaki stones fukuoka steak served on a hot stone with garlic, cheese omelet, and ponzu; green eggs and hamachi hako with spicy tuna, asparagus, and wasabi tobiko; and corn-coconut soup with crab, chive, and white truffle oil. At the bar, look for cocktails, premium sake, red and white wines, beer, and sparkling wines.

O-Ku Sushi, located at 1085 Howell Mill Road, will be open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
