Atlanta-based chain Farm Burger is eyeing expansion again, and a Huntsville, Ala., location is on track to open in mid-February. In an official announcement, Farm Burger co-founder George Frangos said his company is focusing on "expanding to communities and regions with rich food and agriculture traditions, and we believe we have found that in Huntsville."

It's Farm Burger's first Alabama outpost, and a second is on track to open in Birmingham later this year. The chain, which serves only grass-fed beef, currently operates restaurants in Berkeley and Marin, Calif., Asheville, N.C., and Atlanta-area locations in Decatur, Buckhead, and Dunwoody.

Further expansion is planned with another Asheville Farm Burger and a first outpost in Nashville in the coming months. The Decatur original, located at 410 West Ponce de Leon Avenue, began service in 2010.

"We're thrilled to be part of the Huntsville community, to partner with farmers and producers in the area, and to meet new families, neighbors, and friends," Frangos said in a prepared statement.
