Makan partners Michael Lo and chef George Yu are working on another project near their Decatur restaurant. Mama Tiger will open on Emory's campus this Thursday, Lo confirmed in an email to Eater Atlanta, serving ramen and Taiwanese beef noodle soup, steamed buns, and bubble tea.

Lo and Yu opened Makan inside the Courtyard Decatur Downtown hotel at 130 Clairemont Avenue in July 2014. Mama Tiger is the second example of local restaurateurs expanding to Emory in recent weeks, following Bhojanic Market's opening inside the university's Cox Dining Hall earlier this month. That venture came to fruition after Bhojanic owner Archna Becker shuttered her restaurant's Decatur location in November.
Mama Tiger is located at 605 Asbury Circle, inside the Dobbs University Center. Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, and Lo says a big focus is "on late night where there are currently very few options for students."
