Ponce City Market is nearing another big opening. The Mercury, a mid-century modern cocktail lounge and restaurant from the Pinewood team, will begin service Tuesday, January 12. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m., and the team hopes to add lunch on Monday, January 18, at 11 a.m.
Chef Mike Blydenstein menu will include a raw bar, steaks and chops, and "balanced, straightforward entrees featuring seasonal produce and responsibly-sourced protein," according to an announcement from the restaurant. A sample of the dishes includes:

- Lobster fritters with cheddar cheese and tarragon mayo
- Pommes soufflés
- Crudo of the day

- Revere Meat Co. certified prime rib
- Day boat Gulf grouper
- Grilled Atlantic swordfish

- The Merc's mac & cheese
- Pommes gallette
- Grilled asparagus béarnaise
Julian Goglia, who took home Eater Atlanta Bartender of the Year honors in 2015, is running the beverage program. He aims to create a bar experience "inspired by the relaxed glamour of mid-century cocktail culture featuring housemade ingredients." Beverages will feature Proof Cocktail Syrup, which was created by Goglia and the Pinewood team.
The Mercury is on the second floor at Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall, offering seating for 200 in the 4,000-square-foot space.
