The space that was once home to Scales 925, Atlanta rapper T.I.’s brief and controversial foray into the restaurant world, appears to have a new tenant on board. Signage for something called The League Tavern has been posted at 30 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. NW, Suite 125, reports What Now Atlanta.
The operators behind the venture remain a mystery, and no plans related to the project show up on the City of Atlanta’s website. But, the restaurant, being billed as an "upscale sports bar" could open sometime next month, according to WNA.
Scales 925 wasn’t long for this world, opening in April 2015 and receiving an eviction notice over unpaid rent in August 2016. During its short existence, Scales was the site of a shooting, and its owners’ business practices resulted in a wage-theft lawsuit. After receiving the eviction notice, T.I. took to Instagram to declare working with his partner, Charles Hughes, "was a huge mistake in hindsight."
