Welcome back to Eater Scenes, in which Eater photographers visit local establishments to capture them at a certain, specific point in time. Today, Poncey-Highland’s new ramen shop, Nexto.

Chef Mihoko Obunai and Concentrics Restaurants have teamed up on a new Poncey-Highland spot. Located right along the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail, Nexto is the neighborhood’s newest representative in Atlanta’s ramen wars.

The restaurant opened earlier this week, offering diners grilled dishes, cold small plates, and a late-night ramen burger in addition to the noodle soups. The space is a repurposed industrial shed with modern, minimalist design, and it’s surrounded by a bamboo hedge. Considering the attractive glow that comes after dark, it’s no wonder Nexto doesn’t open until 6 p.m.

Obunai’s ramen shop is now serving Monday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Take a look at Nexto in action on its second day of business, and get an idea of what to expect via the photos below.
