Char Korean Bar & Grill opened last month without a liquor license, but now the booze is flowing. Owner Richard Tang tells Eater Atlanta his Inman Park restaurant is serving a variety of whiskeys, soju, cocktails, and more, and Jessica Hall is running the beverage program.
The bar menu covers quite a bit of ground. Thirty-eight whiskeys are listed, including four Japanese bottles. Five soju options are available, and complex cocktails include the exid (Tiger Eyes byejoe, cinnamon, anise, peppercorn, rose tea, lemon, sugar) and the secret (Olmeca Altos tequila, apricot liqueur, lemon, sugar, Sapporo foam). One barrel-aged cocktail, the 2NE1, is available for $40, serves five, and is comprised of Four Roses Yellow Label bourbon, allspice dram, Merlet orange liqueur, and Angostura bitters.
