After opening in Inman Park less than a month ago, Char Korean Bar & Grill is already making a change in the kitchen. The restaurant launched with Ryan Catherall serving as executive chef and Shaun Byun as sous, but now owner Richard Tang tells Eater Atlanta Byun is leading the kitchen as chef de cuisine. Further details on circumstances of the change were not immediately available.
Char is the latest restaurant to come online in the Inman Quarter mixed-use development, following other big names such as Amer, BeetleCat, Bread & Butterfly, and MF Sushi. Catherall and Byun joined the restaurant in July. Char serves traditional and updated takes on Korean barbecue fare, and despite the kitchen change, diners will continue to grill their own meats at their tables.
