The Pinewood has plans for growth at 254 West Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur. One of Atlanta’s favorite spots to sip bourbon, the cocktail bar is expanding into the space next door that was previously home to Decatur Bikes. The project will result in “a brand-new facade, full-service lounge area, various private dining options, extended weekend hours, and refreshed menus,” according to a Thursday morning announcement.
Local firm Square Feet Studio will design the expansion, which will add 1,700 square feet to the bar. It’s the same firm that designed The Mercury, Ponce City Market’s shrine to mid-century dining from Pinewood owners Brooks Cloud, Julian Goglia, and Mike Blydenstein.
There’s no word on when the expansion might be completed, but a representative tells Eater Atlanta The Pinewood will remain open during construction: “lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch will continue as usual.”
