Georgia Beer Garden Is Pouring on Edgewood Avenue

Completing a project more than two years in the making, the folks behind Joystick Gamebar have opened Georgia Beer Garden in Sweet Auburn. First announced in July 2014, the beer garden is serving thirsty customers at 420 Edgewood Ave. SE. In a Facebook post announcing the opening, owners Brandon Ley and Johnny Martinez thanked supporters “who have rooted us on and kept our spirits afloat” over the course of “two years of running into every obstacle we can think of.”

Food will eventually come into the equation, but right now Georgia Beer Garden is focusing on a local-centric list of draft and bottled suds. Drink inside the historic building — previously the Edgewood Animal Clinic — or step out into the backyard for the full beer garden experience when the weather is nice.

Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Take a look at the current beer list below.
