After four years running the kitchen at Floataway Cafe, chef Todd Immel is moving on. Immel has vacated the executive chef position at Anne Quatrano and Clifford Harrison’s North Druid Hills restaurant, and sous chef Travis Hawthorne is taking his place.

Before his time at Floataway Cafe, Immel spent eight years at Quatrano and Harrison’s Star Provisions in Westside. Quatrano tells Eater Atlanta Immel and his family were ready for a schedule change, and the chef has taken a sales job at “one of Atlanta’s oldest specialty food distributors.” Hawthorne has been with Quatrano’s restaurant group for four years, and he spent the last two cooking under Immel.

“Travis is a talented chef with a passion for pasta, and we are thrilled to have him take the lead at Floataway Cafe,” Quatrano said. “Of course, we will miss Todd, but plan to see him often as he will be our sales representative for his new company.”
