Chef Jason Jimenez, previously of Canoe, Local Three, and Muss & Turner’s, is now running the kitchen at the brand-new Kitchen Six in North Decatur. The restaurant opened to the public Tuesday night, taking over the former Mezza space at 2751 Lavista Rd.
Rick Adams of the nearby Oak Grove Market is one of the restaurant’s partners, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. Jason Sandmann, previously of Muss & Turner’s, is on board as general manager. Jimenez and his wife Jamie have been operating Homespun, a private catering company, since 2012. At his new restaurant, the chef will serve modern Southern fare, focusing on local and seasonal ingredients. The dining room is small with seating for 60. The bar is serving “handcrafted cocktails, wines, and locals beers,” according to an official website.
Hours at Kitchen Six are Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
