The Painted Duck has been delayed for a while, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. A representative for the forthcoming Westside gaming hall tells Eater Atlanta plans have been submitted to the city, and owner Justin Amick is eyeing a May or June 2017 debut.

The project, which will be part of the Stockyards Atlanta development that broke ground in July, is a spin-off of The Painted Pin, Amick’s boutique bowling alley in Buckhead. Once plans are approved, the buildout should take 90 to 120 days. Amick expects to begin work in late January or early February.

First announced in June 2015, The Painted Duck will offer 18 lanes for duckpin bowling, which is similar to the traditional game but played with smaller balls and pins. Amick and business partner William Stallworth are billing the venture as a "distinguished drinkery, duckpin bowling, and gaming parlor." Chef Thomas Collins, who has been cooking at The Painted Pin, will develop a menu of cuisine that's described as "backyard bar fare."
