Ammazza, the hopping Edgewood Avenue pizzeria that turns out some of Atlanta's favorite Neapolitan-style pie, is expanding with a second location in Decatur. Co-owner Hugh Connerty confirmed he and his partners will open in the former Twisted Soul space at 314 East Howard Avenue, across the street from Kimball House.

"For the most part the menu is same," Connerty said in an email to Eater Atlanta. "The space is a bit smaller and a different layout, so we don't have room for our big dough room or the real long walk-in that we use as part of our dough-aging process. All that means is we're going to have to make all of it on Edgewood and cold truck it over there It has big enough walk-ins to store plenty of on-hand inventory, though."
Connerty said he's excited about the restaurant's "amazing patio, something we've always really wanted." Lunch, available only on weekends at the Old Fourth Ward original, will be served daily at the new outpost. Connerty hopes Ammazza 2.0 will be ready to open this summer.
The Ammazza team is attempting to bring success to a space that has killed a few concepts in the past. Twisted Soul closed on December 30 after a year of business. Prior to that, the building housed Mar, which eventually transformed into MarBar before shuttering.
