The team behind Fellini's Pizza and La Fonda Latina have announced the second of four planned restaurant's for East Lake's forthcoming Hosea & 2nd development. Poor Hendrix, from James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef Aaron Russell and wife Jamie, will open on the southeast corner of Hosea L. Williams Drive and 2nd Avenue.

The restaurant, currently on track to launch this fall, aims to serve two distinct styles of cuisine. Poor Hendrix's cafe will offer "classic dishes that compliment an affordable, but thoughtful wine list," according to a press release. At the bar, expect "small plates of salty, spicy, and savory comfort food engineered to go best with drinking in a pub atmosphere."

In a prepared statement, Russell said he and his wife "hope to create a space with humble interiors and no pretensions — just a comfortable place to enjoy fabulous food and drink with friends." He previously served as pastry chef at Linton Hopkins's Restaurant Eugene, as well as Nikolai's Roof and The Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.

Clay Harper and Mike Nelson, owners of seven Fellini's and five La Fonda outposts in Atlanta, are planning a third local outpost for The Greater Good Barbecue on the northwest corner of the development. Two more eateries on the southeast corner are in the works, plans for the northeast corner are being considered. The duo is in the process of acquiring properties for the development from the C.F. Foundation, and organization that has been working to revitalize East Lake since 1993.
