In general, chefs and restaurateurs have a prickly relationship with Yelp and the review platform's legion of amateur critics. But at least one Atlanta restaurant should have no complaints. Aviva By Kameel, the Downtown Mediterranean staple, has been named to Yelp's 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2016.
Aviva By Kameel checks in at No. 26 on the list, right behind Charleston's Halls Chophouse and directly ahead of Ike's Place in San Francisco. The rankings are led by Porto's Bakery & Cafe in Burbank, Calif. Aviva By Kameel has a five-star rating on Yelp with 528 reviews.
Yelp says it came up with the list by analyzing "which places were the all-time most popular and well reviewed on Yelp." The rankings look at businesses' performances since the founding of the website in 2004.
Last year, Aviva By Kameel ranked 13th on the list, again serving as the only local restaurant to make the cut.
