The team behind lauded New York City cocktail bar Amor y Amargo has been on the road, and a visit to Atlanta is planned for Monday, February 15. Bartenders Sother Teague and Lindsay Matteson will take over The SOS Tiki Bar in Decatur for one night only, reports Creative Loafing, pouring bitter, amaro-based cocktails.
Matteson, who has been touring the Southeast with Teague, told CL a stop in Atlanta was a no-brainer: "The city has a reputation for great cocktails and food, and every bartender I've met from Atlanta is top-notch." To this point, her only time in town has been at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport: "And if [One Flew South] is that awesome, I cant wait to see what the rest of the city has to offer."
Matteson and Teague, along with Little Trouble general manager Ari Form, will concoct bitter versions of classic beverages and offer an amaro seminar to local United States Bartenders' Guild members. The action starts at 8 p.m.
