Chris Edwards has a new gig under the Linton Hopkins umbrella. Previously executive chef at Holeman & Finch Public House, Edwards has taken the same role at Restaurant Eugene. He replaces Brian Jones, who was named executive chef at Restaurant Eugene last August.
"I'm grateful for this incredible opportunity for culinary growth, and I'm eager to get back into the Restaurant Eugene kitchen," Edwards said in an announcement from Hopkins's Resurgens Hospitality Group. "As proponents of the region and its rich history, we will continue to uphold our refined and artistic guest experience and menu approach allowing the classics to shine through simply prepared, precious ingredients."
Before taking the executive chef role at Holeman & Finch in December, he was chef de cuisine at the restaurant. He previously spent time as sous chef at Restaurant Eugene. Hopkins had been executive chef at both restaurants, but stepped back last year as his company grew.
"Edwards' return to Restaurant Eugene is exciting for our team," Hopkins said. "His passion and philosophy of cookery align seamlessly with ours, and Gina and I look forward to his continued successes."
Further details on Jones' future were not available, but a representative for Resurgens said his departure was "amicable." Edwards's replacement at Holeman & Finch has not been named.
In addition to Restaurant Eugene and Holeman & Finch, Resurgens operates The Cafe at Linton's, H&F Bread Co., Holeman and Finch Bottle Shop, H&F Burger, and Hop's Chicken. A second H&F Burger opened alongside Hop's in September at Ponce City Market, following the original at Turner Field.
