Pallookaville's New Ownership Is Keeping Jim Stacy on Board

The bearded chef will continue to be a presence at the restaurant.

Beloved Avondale Estates corn dog emporium Pallookaville Fine Foods is under new ownership, reports Decaturish. Jim Stacy announced in December he was searching for a buyer, and a couple of local restaurateurs fit the bill. James Maggard and Jason Hylton, owners of Matador Cantina in Oakhurst and Local No. 7 and FiveSevenTwo in Tucker, are now in possession of the restaurant.

Maggard, who also co-owns Little Five Points's forthcoming Pallookaville Junior with his partner, told Decaturish Stacy will stay on board as an employee: "Pallookaville is not Pallookaville without Jim Stacy." The new men in charge reportedly will make a few minor changes to the restaurant, but for the most part "if it's not broke, don't fix it."

In January, Pallookaville temporarily shuttered so the team could take care of "some pressing mechanical repairs." The original plan called for a March relaunch, though no specific date was announced. Maggard told Decaturish, "We're trying to reopen ASAP, but it has got to be done right."
