The restaurateurs at 101 Concepts are working on another venture. The team behind Cibo e Beve, Food 101, Meehan's Public House, and Smoke Ring will open 101 Steak the former Social Vinings space at 3621 Vinings Slope SE, according to a Wednesday announcement. The buildout has begun, and the current timeline is projecting service to begin in late spring.

The concept calls for a chef-driven steakhouse serving "affordable, high-quality steaks and seafood in addition to a raw bar and extensive by-the-glass wine list." Joey Ahn, previously of SOHO and the recently shuttered Timone's, is on board as a partner and executive chef.
Ahn took over the kitchen at Timone's after angry chef Ron Eyester overhauled the concept in October 2014. Eyester closed the restaurant, along with Rosebud and The Family Dog, last year. Local restaurateur Tom Murphy plans to open Morningside Kitchen in the Rosebud space next month, and The Family Dog recently relaunched under new ownership.
Longtime Atlanta chef Paul Albrecht opened Social Vinings in 2008. In his 70s and staring down retirement, Albrecht put the restaurant up for sale in January 2015.
