East Cobb stalwart Doug Turbush is almost ready to debut his latest restaurant in the area. Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar will open this Sunday at 4475 Roswell Road in Marietta, according to a Thursday morning announcement, taking up residence in the Avenue East Cobb development.

Earlier this month, Turbush announced his team for the restaurant, employing a few veterans of his other eateries. Brendan Keenan, who has worked as a chef de cuisine under Turbush since 2011, is on board as executive chef. Jason Raymond, general manager for Seed Kitchen & Bar and Stem Wine Bar since 2009, is in as director of operations and sommelier. Jose Pereiro, on the bar staff at Seed since 2011, will serve as Drift's bar manager.

Drift will "showcase the best seafood species that the East and Gulf Coasts have to offer," focusing on larger entrees, sharable plates, and some raw bar options. Raymond's wine program will offer whites and lighter reds to complement the seafood, and Pereiro's cocktails will be "built around top-notch spirits and ingredients of the same superb quality as those found in the restaurant's cuisine."

Seating for 117 will be available in the 5,260-square-foot space, which is designed with a distinct beach theme. Local firm ai3 was in charge of the interiors. Drift will initially open for dinner only, but lunch and brunch service should begin in the near future.
