Gunshow Was Hit by Vandals Early Wednesday Morning

Nothing of consequence was taken.

Gunshow, Kevin Gillespie's celebrated Glenwood Park restaurant, was targeted by vandals around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Front windows were smashed, reports WTVM-TV, and an empty cash register was taken from the building, but further details weren't immediately available. It appears damage was relatively minimal, and service won't be interrupted.

"We are just glad that no one was hurt and the damage was minimal," Gillespie said in a statement provided to Eater Atlanta. "Gunshow will open as usual tonight." An investigation into the incident is underway.

When it isn't being targeted by brazen criminals, Gunshow is a destination for celebrities such as Mindy Kaling, who once shared the "best meal of our lives" with her crew at the restaurant. Last month, Eater national critic Bill Addison named it as one of the 38 essential restaurants in America for the second consecutive year.

Framed Glenwood, an optometrist across the street from Gunshow, was also vandalized, according to WTVM. There's no word on whether anything was taken from that business.
