Construction on Barcelona Wine Bar's next Atlanta location is just about complete, and the Westside Ironworks restaurant is nearing its launch. The Barcelona team isn't ready to announce a projected opening date for the second local outpost, but a Friday press release offers more details on the space's design. Officials say it's meant to "capitalize on the original building’s interior and fit the overall restoration character of Westside Ironworks."
- Outside the building is a "vast" patio that shows off a custom fireplace.
- Convertible glass doors create an open-air atmosphere for outdoor dining with views of the Midtown skyline.
- The freestanding building provides 4,000 square feet of interior space.
Benjamin Meyer, who previously served as chef de cuisine at Iridescence in Detroit, is on board as executive chef for the new Barcelona location. Once it begins service, it will mark the completion of the Westside Ironworks development, which also includes O-Ku Sushi and Tom + Chee, as well as a fashion boutique, hair salon, and home store.
Barcelona Wine Bar is operated by Connecticut-based Barteca Holdings, which also operates Bartaco, another brand with multiple Atlanta locations.
