Atlanta's uptick in restaurant crime continues with a brazen armed robbery at Houston's in Buckhead. Two men with masks and guns broke into the steakhouse just after midnight on Monday, March 21, reports Fox 5, when they stole employees' cell phones and thousands of dollars in cash.
Security footage from the restaurant at 2166 Peachtree Rd. NW shows the robbers, who wore black ski masks, in action.
Atlanta Police Department officers told Fox 5 the suspects were able to enter the restaurant when two employees exited through the restaurant's back door to take out the trash. No one was hurt in the robbery.
Crime at local restaurants has been on the rise recently. A bar manager in southwest Atlanta was shot and killed after he broke up a fight last Friday. Earlier in the week, two APD officers brawled at R. Thomas' Deluxe Grill in Buckhead, and two Midtown eateries were hit by break-ins.
