Local restauranteur Justin Anthony has closed Yebo at Phipps Plaza and soon will open a revamped concept on West Paces Ferry Road. Now, the team behind Yebo Beach Haus is ready to share a few more details. Originally scheduled to open April 19, Anthony and co. have pushed back the launch date to Tuesday, April 26.
At the Beach Haus, Anthony is trading in his South African-Southern vibe for something a little more sophisticated, what he says incorporates elements from the Hamptons and Venice Beach. Design wise, that means "an expansive outdoor patio, white-washed walls, dark cherry wood-stained floors, and driftwood decor elements," according to a release. Anthony’s wife Kelly, an interior designer, is in charge of revamping the space. such as shrimp peri-peri tacos, bunny chow sliders and
Yebo Beach Haus's menu will feature more small plates than the old restaurant, offering dishes such as shrimp peri-peri tacos, bunny chow sliders, tomato and watermelon bruschetta, grilled swordfish sandwiches, and boerewors meatballs. The beverage program will be similar to Biltong Bar, Anthony's Ponce City Market restaurant, with cocktails, wine, and local beers.
"Yebo means 'yes' in South Africa, and that’s exactly how I feel about this concept," Anthony said in a prepared statement. "It’s something fun and new, that I’ve never approached before, yet fits the brand so perfectly. Nestled in such a lively part of the neighborhood, it’s an ideal destination for people to hang out, grab a drink and some bites with friends."
Once it opens in the former Coast space at 111 West Paces Ferry Rd., Yebo Beach Haus will serve dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Brunch service is on deck for Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and weekday lunch will be added shortly after opening.
Yebo Beach Haus will be the third new restaurant opening for Anthony in less than six months, following Cape Dutch in the former Woodfire Grill space in November and Biltong Bar at the beginning of February. Anthony also operates 10 Degrees South in Buckhead.
