Georgia chef, Top Chef judge, and James Beard Award winner Hugh Acheson is heading to Preserving Place Tuesday night to sign copies of his three cookbooks, The Broad Fork, Pick a Pickle, and A New Turn in the South. Acheson will set up shop from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The signing event is free, but reservations are requested. Contact Preserving Place via email or by phone at (404) 815-5267 to secure a spot.

Acheson debuted The Broad Fork last May, offering writings and recipes that focus on the South's abundant bounty of vegetables. He operates Empire State South and Ponce City Market's Spiller Park Coffee in Atlanta, The National and Five & Ten in Athens, and The Florence in Savannah. In 2012, he won the James Beard Foundation's book award for Cooking From a Professional Point of View for A New Turn in the South, and he was picked as co-winner for Best Chef: Southeast along with Linton Hopkins of Restaurant Eugene.

Acheson's cookbooks will be available for purchase at the event. Preserving Place is located in Westside Provisions District at 1170 Howell Mill Rd.
