Sublime Doughnuts Is Certified Open in North Druid Hills [Updated]

Midtown favorite Sublime Doughnuts surprised fans Thursday morning with the announced opening of its new North Druid Hills location. Sublime revealed the news on Facebook, declaring its new shop at 2566 Briarcliff Rd. NE will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sublime first announced plans for a second outpost last June. It seems satisfying Atlantans' doughnut cravings at all hours has become a priority recently. Before launching in North Druid Hills, the Midtown original recently expanded service to stay open from Tuesday at 6 a.m. to Sunday at 9 p.m.

In addition to its brick-and-mortar stores, Sublime's products are incorporated on a few menus around Atlanta, including a daily selection at Spiller Park Coffee and the Sublime Doughnut burger at Cypress Street Pint & Plate. Owner Kamal Grant opened his first shop on 10th Street NW in 2008, and it's been established as one of this city's best bets ever since.

Update: April 28, 12:15 p.m. In a press release for the opening, co-owner Pano Balomenos announced the creation of Sublime Brands and further plans for "growth into neighborhoods all around Atlanta."

"This is our first foray into multi-unit corporate expansion," Balomenos said in a prepared statement. "We are looking for locations that have a strong residential population and a high-density office component. Atlanta neighborhoods from Buckhead to Midtown to Dunwoody make sense for us for future growth."
