David Sweeney's Next Stop Is The Red Barn Cafe in North Georgia

Sweeney will take over the restaurant's kitchen for six months

Former Dynamic Dish chef David Sweeney has been showing up in kitchens all over Atlanta lately, but his next venture is a little more permanent. Sweeney announced Monday he will serve as the seasonal in-house chef for The Red Barn Cafe at Tiger Mountain Vineyards. His run will begin on May 8 and last six months, through the end of October.

"My goal has always been to serve foods that nourish," Sweeney said in a prepared statement. "It’s exciting for me to be able to do this in the setting of the winery and backdrop of the vineyards. The environment alone feels healthy and uplifting."

Tiger Mountain Vineyards is located at 2592 Old 441 S in Tiger, just outside of Clayton. The Red Barn's first day of the season is Mother's Day, and after that it will be open on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sweeney also will serve as catering chef for private events and wine tastings. In his time at the restaurant, he'll dish out a "casual menu to pair with the gold medal-winning wines of Tiger Mountain Vineyards."

"I look forward to serving a menu where guests can enjoy the high-quality ingredients Georgia has to offer, prepared in my own style, and paired with Georgia wines," the chef said.
