The sister concept for Buckhead boutique bowling alley The Painted Pin won't open this year, after all. Originally scheduled for a summer 2016 debut, The Painted Duck's timeline is being pushed back to "first quarter 2017," according to a post from The Duck's Instagram account. Owner Justin Amick and his team hope to break ground on the project this November.
The Painted Duck eventually will take up space in the forthcoming Stockyards Atlanta development at 976 Brady Ave. When it does open, there will be 18 lanes for duckpin bowling, which is similar to the traditional game, but with smaller balls and pins. Amick and business partner William Stallworth are billing it as a "distinguished drinkery, duckpin bowling, and gaming parlor." Chef Thomas Collins, who's been cooking at The Painted Pin, will develop The Painted Duck's menu, creating cuisine that's described as "backyard bar fare."
Stockyards Atlanta comes from Westbridge Partners, the same development company behind White Provision in Westside.
