East Atlanta Village's Global Grub Collective, anchored by We Suki Suki, has another tenant on board. Revolution Gelato is popping up this Saturday evening in the East Atlanta Breakfast Spot space, and plans call for the scoop shop to become a permanent resident of the "food hallway" soon. Saturday's soft preview will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"They're such a perfect fit for our space," Quynh Trinh, founder of We Suki Suki and the Global Grub Collective, said in a prepared statement. "I've been wanting to get Revolution in here for over six months, and we finally have a good spot for them."
Revolution, from brother-and-sister team Jared Olkin and Leah Sitkin, launched production 10 months ago, and its gelato has been sold online and at retailers such as the Candler Park Market, Buford Highway Farmers Market, and Pallookaville Fine Foods. At the Global Grub Collective, four flavors will be available, initially: cardamom kiss, nekkid espresso, orange dream, and triple vanilla.
"We're excited to have an outlet for connecting directly with customers on a regular basis, and it will give us the opportunity to be more creative," Olkin said in a prepared statement. "We're hoping once we get settled in that this can operate as an ongoing flavor lab."
Revolution was a 2016 winner at Flavor of Georgia's annual food product contest. Olkin tells Eater Atlanta Revolution could be fully operational out of the East Atlanta Breakfast Spot space "within four weeks, or possibly even sooner."
