With locations in Midtown and Vinings already well established, South City Kitchen is about to plant a flag in a new neighborhood. The Fifth Group Restaurants eatery will open its Buckhead outpost on Tuesday, May 24, at 5 p.m., a representative tells Eater Atlanta. Chef Jason Starnes, formerly of The Sun Dial, will oversee daily kitchen operations.
While some dishes from the Midtown and Vinings restaurants are on the menu, South City Kitchen Buckhead will feature a few exclusives as well. They included:
- Pickled shrimp with crunchy vegetables, pickled jalapenos, and watercress
- Local strawberry and wood sorrel salad with pickled green strawberries, Bermuda triangle goat cheese, and strawberry gazpacho
- Grilled pork chop with barbecued hazelnuts, cornbread puree, charred broccolini, and sorghum vinaigrette
- Spiced grilled quail with Carolina risotto, lemon-tomato jus, and crispy okra
The Buckhead restaurant takes up a 6,000-square-foot space on the first floor of the 3350 Peachtree building facing Peachtree Road. Regular lunch hours are Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Brunch service runs Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special bar menu will be offered daily from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
