Last Word Is Ready for Another Round of Taco Night

And, another Nexto preview is on deck

Matthew Wong/Eater Atlanta

— Chef Marco Serrano's Taco Night pop-up is back for another round at Last Word this week. Bernard Moussa, owner of the Old Fourth Ward restaurant, tells Eater Atlanta Serrano will serve his Mexican fare Thursday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The food and beverage menus from Taco Night's latest Last Word appearances will remain the same.

Last Word has seen a number of changes lately. Before Taco Night showed up in late April, Timothy Faulkner's Up Or Down cocktail pop-up served out of the space earlier last month, and chef Andy Tran's Ramen Crush took up residency during March. Last Word executive chef Layla Walk and beverage director Cole Younger Just recently announced their amicable departures as well. Regarding the restaurant's future beyond Taco Night, Moussa says he is "playing around with some ideas."

— Following preview dinners at ParishThe Spence, and One Midtown Kitchen, Mihoko Obunai's Nexto is popping up at Tap in June. Obunai will take over the Midtown restaurant for dinner on June 25.

Obunai is partnering with Concentrics Restaurants to open Nexto at 822 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE. She first announced the project in January. Before making her Nexto plans, Obunai was cooking at Huge Cafe in Midtown. Her prior Atlanta experience includes a Ramen Freak pop-up at The Sound Table; working in the kitchens at Southbound, Repast, and Joli Kobe; and operating a Mibo Love ramen pop-up at So Ba.
