Look Around The Cowfish, Where Burgers and Sushi Collide

The restaurant is certified open in Dunwoody

Bringing sushi and hamburgers together in an unlikely pairing, The Cowfish recently opened at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. The menu offers half-pound burgers and traditional sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and entree-sized fusion rolls. And for the more adventurous, there's "burgushi," what the restaurant calls a selection of "sushi rolls created using burger components and pick-up style sandwiches created using sushi."

As for the space's design, subtlety is checked at the door. Bold red walls dominate, and they're complemented by natural wood tables and chairs, some modern takes on classic American imagery — such as Grant Wood's American Gothic — and a slate gray ceiling. Outside, a covered patio allows for al fresco dining, no matter the weather.

The Cowfish is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Take a look inside via the photos below.

Not many burger joins offer seating at a sushi bar, but The Cowfish does.

Among the The Cowfish's fusion options is the dynamic duo burger topped with braised short rib, roasted garlic, provolone cheese, tomato onion jam, and skewered with a piece of sushi.

The what's shakin' tuna bacon: seared yellowfin tuna, applewood bacon, iceberg, jalapenos, tomato salsa, Asian slaw, and spicy mayo are served between a grilled spring roll wrapper stuffed with kani and sushi rice.
