Taka Sushi and Passion Is Reborn in Sandy Springs

And Duluth is about to get new options for barbecue and brunch

Taka/Facebook

— After closing its original restaurant in March, Taka Sushi and Passion is up and running in its new home. Taka opened in the Sandy Springs Gateway development last week, taking up residence at 4600 Roswell Road. Chef and owner Taka Moriuchi announced the opening on Facebook.

Taka temporarily served out of the former Cafe at Pharr space while construction on the new building was being completed. Now that the restaurant is in business at its permanent address, lunch hours are Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner is served Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

— Dreamland Bar-B-Que's forthcoming Duluth location at 3096 Buford Hwy. will launch next Saturday, June 11, according to a want ad on Craigslist. It will be the second Georgia location for the Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based barbecue restaurant, following an outpost in Roswell. Dreamland previously operated in Peachtree Corners, but that restaurant closed following a fire in 2013. The site is now home to Jay Swift's Noble Fin.

— Brokn' Egg Bistro, focusing on breakfast and brunch foods, will host a soft opening at 4601 Satellite Blvd., Suite 7 in Duluth this Sunday, June 5, according to a Facebook post. Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and all menu items will be $2 from open until 11 a.m.
