Yumbii, the food truck that has been coasting Atlanta's streets since 2010, is growing up with a full-service brick-and-mortar restaurant. Yumbii Taco Shop is planned for Brookwood Village at 1927 Peachtree Rd. NE, according to a Wednesday announcement, and it should open this fall.

"We've been overwhelmed and humbled by the enthusiastic response to Yumbii over the last six years," founder Carson Young said in a prepared statement. "Now, we couldn't be more excited to lay down roots in a permanent space."
Following Young's food truck model, the taco shop will meld Asian and Mexican flavors. Look for Yumbii classics such as panko-crusted fish tacos, Asian ribeye Philly sandwiches, spicy pulled pork sliders, and sesame fries with Sriracha cheese dip. The expanded menu will also include breakfast tacos, salads, Mexican-style street corn, and rice bowls.
Young also operates the YumDiggity stand inside Sweet Auburn Curb Market. Once his taco shop is up and running in Brookwood Hills, he plans to target more locations for the concept.
