Former NFL quarterback Nate Hybl has been working on a second location for Gusto, his fast casual restaurant, since March. Now, the opening is in sight. Hybl doesn't have a specific date circled yet, but he's planning to begin service sometime in July. The second Gusto outpost is replacing The Real Chow Baby at 782 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE.

"We're grateful to celebrate a successful first year and can't wait to bring gusto!'s fresh, flavorful, and fast menu to a new neighborhood," Hybl said in a Thursday announcement. "Virginia-Highland is an exciting and growing part of town, and we're looking forward to becoming part of the community next to the BeltLine and Ponce City Market."

The concept focuses on grilled proteins and "gustos," flavor profiles in the form of sauces, fresh vegetables and fruits, and fresh garnishes. The menu offers build-your-own salads, rice bowls, sandwiches, and wraps, plus a selection of house-made combinations. Design of the space will be similar to the original location, with exposed brick, concrete floors, and "gusto! gold" yellow accents. Outdoor seating will be available in addition to the main dining room.

The original Gusto opened in Brookwood Hills in October 2014. Once the second location is in business, Hybl and his team plan find new locations to further expand the brand.
