It's moving in to Colony Square

5Church/Official

Charlotte-based 5Church will open its Atlanta outpost next week. The restaurant will begin dinner service on Friday, June 24, serving out of a Colony Square space at the corner of 14th and Peachtree streets in Midtown. The newest location, which will boast the complete text of Sun Tzu's The Art of War painted on the ceiling, follows the Charlotte original and a second restaurant that opened in Charleston last November.

RJ Cooper, winner of the 2007 James Beard Foundation award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic is on board as executive chef. Cooper will collaborate with 5Church partner Jamie Lynch to execute the restaurant's menu. Recently finalized, the list of offerings includes some dishes that can be foundat the Charlotte and Charleston locations, along with some Atlanta exclusives. Those include charred octopus with red pea hummus, lemon, and pea tendrils; roasted whole fish with grilled broccoli rabe, fingerling potatoes, roasted garlic, and caramelized lemon; smoked Pekin duck with smoked confit, cabbage pancake, duck egg, and spicy plum sauce; and cave-aged cheddar agnolotti with sweet peas, Lord's country ham, and black pepper. The bar will pour specialty cocktails and craft beers, and the wine list includes some 200 bottles.

Opening hours are 5 p.m. to close, seven days a week, and 5Church plans to add lunch and weekend brunch service soon. Take a look at the finalized dinner menu below.
