The 101 Concepts team (Cibo e Beve, Food 101, Meehan's Public House, and Smoke Ring) is getting close to the debut of its latest concept, a traditional steakhouse called 101 Steak. The restaurant is opening in the former Social Vinings space at 3621 Vinings Slope SE, and plans call for service to begin later this month. When it's officially in business, 101 Steak, helmed by executive chef Joey Ahn, will offer "a modern approach to traditional prime steakhouse fare."
While Ahn and his partners advertise modernity, the menu is very much a throwback to an old-school chophouse. Ten different steaks are available, ranging from the 10-ounce hanger steak "classic cut" for $26 up to the 50-day-dry-aged 32-ounce tomahawk chop, which checks in at $89. The beef can be topped with bleu cheese, caramelized shallots, or foie gras, and traditional sauces such as bearnaise and chimichurri can further augment. Anyone looking for surf-and-turf will appreciate the "arm candy" options: lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, lump crab meat, or soft-shell crab.
While steak is the star of the show, the menu covers a lot of ground. Take a look at the full list of offerings below.
