A new concept is in the works for what was once planned to be Bad Dog Taqueria in Old Fourth Ward. The space on the corner of Edgewood Avenue and and Boulevard has been leased by Tim Lance of Cabbage Pie and Bantam Pub, reports What Now Atlanta. Real Estate firm Cygnet Properties says Lance will take over street-level and second-floor spaces at 476 Edgewood Ave. SE and 480 Edgewood Ave. SE, respectively.
Plans for Bad Dog Taqueria fell apart after owner Tracy Mitchell was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident last November. MItchell's original location in Emory Village has since closed as well. There's no word yet on what Lance plans to install on the corner across Boulevard from Sister Louisa's Church and across Edgewood from The Sound Table.
Local photographer and bartender Emily Cameron was killed in the hit-and-run accident. In April, cookbook author Kate Parham Kordsmeier and photographer Heidi Geldhauser presented a $10,000 art scholarship in Cameron's memory.
Lance opened Cabbage Pie in the former Village Pizza space at 186 Carroll St. SE in March 2015. Bantam Pub made its debut at 737 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE in September 2013.
