Watch the 'GQ' Profile of Staplehouse

The magazine picked it as America's best new restaurant

As more and more accolades come in, the story of Staplehouse, which opened in Old Fourth Ward last September, is becoming well-known on a national level. Staplehouse recently topped GQ's list of the best new restaurants in America, and in this video for the magazine, the team tells its story.

"The community aspect to us is extremely important," co-owner Jen Hidinger says. "I think if someone were to ask, 'What is Staplehouse?' Well, it's a restaurant, it's a neighborhood restaurant, we offer food and beverage. But it is, it's greater purpose."

Since opening nine months ago, Staplehouse has become the most heralded place to eat in Atlanta. It was named as one of five finalists for the James Beard Foundation's Best New Restaurant award, which eventually went to Shaya in New Orleans. In March, Atlanta Magazine's Corby Kummer awarded Staplehouse four out of four stars, the first such rating from the magazine since 2010.
